We have a had a great summer at Rowan House. We have been blessed with some lovely warm weather this year, so have been making the most of it by getting out in the garden as much as possible.
We had a fabulous garden party in June in honour of the Queens 90th birthday! Everyone enjoyed the buffet laid on by the kitchen staff.
Elisabeth has been busy organising a variety of activities for the residents. The sunflower seeds sprouted and have brightened up the home! The residents have been participating in the usual art and crafts activities, pamper sessions and quizzes and enjoying entertainment from our regular entertainers, Pat and Dave.
There have been lots of birthday celebrations!
We are pleased to welcome lots of new staff into Rowan House; Hollie, Hannah, Charlotte, Rita, Ellie, Richard, June and Eve, who are all settling in very well. I would also like to welcome Sue, our new Duty Manager, who has been doing a great job since joining.
We have also seen some staff members leave; Carl, Grace, Jo, Peter, Caroline, Cheryl, Amy, Sharon and Alex have all left, we wish them all well for the future.
We are delighted to welcome some new residents; Sylvia, Cyril and Gwen, who are all settling in extremely well. Inez has also joined us on a permanent basis, having been cared for on the Community by Rowan House Domiciliary staff for several years.
Barbara and Valerie have now moved onto more suitable accommodation. We also have to say a sad goodbye to Ron and Ruby, our thoughts and best wishes go to her friends and family.
We have seen lots of new faces coming in for respite over the summer period and enjoying the services at Rowan House; Beryl, Pauline, Pamela, Herbert, Reginald, Miriam and Patricia.
Mandy has been doing a great job of running the Day Care Centre over the summer months, and has been taking advantage of the lovely weather by organising trips out in the mini bus every Monday.
