Newsletter spring/summer 2018!

WOW what a scorcher of a summer we’re having!!!

Residents have been enjoying relaxing in the garden.  The garden is looking lovely at the moment, all thanks to our handyman, Vic, who has done an amazing job on the flower pots and beautiful hanging baskets around the building.

Mandy has been making the most of the weather by taking her Day Care users on visits to the seaside in the minibus.

We are sports crazy at the moment, with England doing well in the football World Cup and Wimbledon under way.  We are showing it all on TV for whoever wants to watch.

We are pleased to announce that Tracie Cooke has been promoted to Deputy Manager.  Tracie has naturally progressed into this role since starting at Rowan House and is well liked and respected by staff and residents.  She will be great in this position.

We are glad to welcome Jess back into the Rowan House team.  Jess worked for us out in the Community and has decided to return to work within the home.  She is a great asset to the team.  I would also like to welcome Lorna and Tracy to the team, both are settling in well.

We will be sad to see Charlotte leave the care team this summer.  Charlotte is moving on to broaden her work experience but knows she is always welcome back to Rowan House. We wish her luck in her new role.

We are continuing to accommodate lots of new residents into Rowan House for respite care, many of whom, have booked into stay with us again.  Which is great!

We have just invested in a fantastic, brand new ‘Stand Aid’ which makes assisting with standing so much easier for staff and more comfortable for those residents that require assistance.  All staff have just completed their annual Manual Handling training and have been trained to use the ‘Stand Aid’ as part of that.
