Covid-19 update
At the current time, we have no cases of COVID-19 in Rowan House. We are taking all steps that are possible to prevent COVID-19 entering the Home. We take staff temperatures at the beginning of their shifts, all staff wear face masks throughout their shifts and all staff are coming to work in different clothes and are changing into their uniforms in a separate building, before entering the Home. All staff are following a strict regime of hand-washing and domestic staff are continuing to ensure the Home is as clean as can be.
We have sourced the necessary PPE to ensure that staff can deal with residents safely.
We are monitoring the situation daily and the Directors have regular meetings to discuss strategy, PPE and any urgent requirements within the Home.
We are continuing to only permit “essential” visitors to the Home and we have very few outsiders coming into the Home. We ask all visitors to respect this and to understand that we are sad to have to adopt this policy, but that it is necessary for the safety and well-being of all our residents. We will lift this restriction once the COVID-19 crisis is behind us. However, this is likely to be fairly long-term in the case of care homes.
We offer Facetime or audio calls to all friends and relatives and can also provide regular up-dates regarding residents.
Our staff are doing a wonderful job in these challenging times.
