We have had a good winter at Rowan House.
We had a lovely Christmas. The Christmas party was a great success and it was lovely to see so many staff and friends and family members there. Karen organised a huge raffle with lots of great prizes. All the staff worked really hard to produce a fantastic buffet which was enjoyed by everyone, and the entertainers did a great job of getting everyone in the Christmas spirit!
We are pleased to welcome some new staff into Rowan House; who are all settling in very well. I would like to welcome Tracie, our new Duty Manager, Tracie has a number of years’ experience in care and medication and has been doing a great job since joining. I would also like to welcome 2 new carers, Tracy and Abby.
We are delighted to welcome some new residents; George, Peter and Norman who are all settling in extremely well. We also have to say a sad goodbye to Gwen, John, Ivey and Pat our thoughts and best wishes go to their friends and family. They will be truly missed at Rowan House. Hilda has also moved to more suitable accommodation.
We have enjoyed being able to accommodate a number of different people into Rowan House for respite care over the winter months and we hope to see them again soon.
Elisabeth has been busy organising a variety of activities for the residents. Her focus now being on Easter! The residents have been participating in the usual art and crafts activities, pamper sessions and quizzes and enjoying entertainment from our regular entertainers, Pat and Dave.
Rowan House continues to offer a great Domiciliary service to the community and Sandy, the Domiciliary Manager, does a fantastic job of managing everybody’s needs on a daily basis.
Mandy does a great job of running the Day Care Centre every Monday at the SHADO centre in Saltash. Mandy is busy planning lots of activities and outings throughout the spring and summer and would love to see some more people there.
We are looking forward to the coming summer months and will be arranging some more outings as the weather begins to brighten up.
